Smart Ring And The Future Of Wearable Devices

There’s a new interesting product raising awareness and funds at Indiegogo. Called Smarty Ring, it aims to redefine what a wearable device can be.
Forget about smart watches, this ring will notify you if something on your phone needs your attention. You won’t be able to read messages, but you’ll know that a message has arrived.
Made out of stainless steel, the Smarty Ring has a 24-hour battery life, and will work with both iOS and Android devices, as long as they support Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity. And aside from alerting you about important events, it can also show current time, track other ring wearers, and serve as a remote for your phone.

As you would expect, settings are managed through a dedicated mobile app and from there you can set what kind of notifications you want Smarty Ring to take care of.
Users can choose between few different Smart Ring variants. The Tracker goes for $50, Clock for $70, Remote for $100, and “full blown” version (that has all features) for $175. The Indiegogo campaign is ending within some 20 hours, so if you want to grab one of these – you better act quickly. Estimated delivery is April 2014… Check out the short demo video below.
