Get To Know The Best Tech Places To Work In 2014

It's no secret that tech companies treat their employees well: organic lunches, weekly yoga classes, ping pong tables, slack pet policies. And it's those perks that keep organizations like Twitter, Facebook, and Google in workers' good graces.

Jobs and career community Glassdoor today revealed the winners of its annual 50 Best Places to Work Employees' Choice Awards, and Twitter, LinkedIn, and Facebook won top honors.
Based entirely on input from employees who provide feedback about their job, work environment, and company, the sixth annual survey results includes 22 tech companies, the most heavily represented industry.

Taking the lead is Twitter, which makes its Best Places to Work debut at No. 2.
"We're extraordinarily pleased to receive this honor, especially since it reflects what our own employees say about us," Janet Van Huysse, Twitter's vice president of Human Resources, said in a statement to PCMag. "It's never been a better time to join the Flock!"

Following closely behind are LinkedIn (No. 3) and Facebook (No. 5), the latter of which took a spill in this year's rankings.
The popular social network, which was named the No. 1 tech company to work for from 2011-2013, dropped in the 2014 standings, marking the first time in four years that Facebook has fallen out of the top three overall.
Neither Facebook nor LinkedIn immediately responded to a request for comment.

Glassdoor Top Tech Companies 2014Glassdoor's research extends to more than 50 million company reviews submitted by employees, who are asked to provide pros and cons and advice to senior management, as well as rate how satisfied they are with their company overall, how they feel their CEO is leading the company, and which key workplace attributes like career opportunities, compensation and benefits, and work-life balance are available.

"Greater workplace transparency is essential to helping connect the right people with the right companies," Glassdoor CEO Robert Hohman said in a statement. "Today's workforce no longer prefers, but expects to have access to the information they want to make the most informed job and career decisions as possible."
The top 22 tech companies, according to Glassdoor's survey, include Google, Orbitz, Qualcomm, Intel, Apple, Citrix, Texas Instruments, and eBay, among others — all of which earned a rating between 3.8 and 4.6, out of five.
The No. 1 place to work, according to employees, is Boston-based global management consulting firm Bain & Company.
