Report Says iPad Air Is Getting More Sales Than iPad 4

Data suggests that more people are buying Apple's latest tablet than its predecessor. Demand for the newest version of Apple’s iPad has seen its share of the market hit 3.35 per cent within the first 35 days of it being on sale. By contrast, the iPad 4 managed to account for 1.51 per cent of the market during the same period of time.
The data was collected by analytics company Fisku. Its software is installed in apps from major companies like Groupon, VH1, Barnes and Noble and Hearst Magazines.
According to Fisku, its apps containing its software is installed on “millions of iPads”. It measured the adoption rate by analysing the data from millions of ‘events’ that took place in apps using its software.
“At 35 days since release, Fiksu is tracking an adoption rate of 3.35 percent for the iPad Air, versus a 1.51 percent rate recorded during the same time interval after the release of the iPad 4,” Fiksu said in a statement.
Apple shipped 22.9 million iPads in the fourth quarter of 2012. It is expected that Apple will ship more than 23 million iPads during the same three months this year – 10.9 million of which are expected to be the iPad Air.
