AT&T internally testing a smartphone that could be the Samsung Galaxy S 5

This evening, Evleaks put out a tweet about the SM-G900A which is said to be the Galaxy S5. Although we don’t know for sure just yet, which is why we are keeping this in the rumor phase. But we thought everyone would want to know about this. There are rumors that the Galaxy S5 could be announced at CES, although I doubt that. I’d expect it to be shown behind closed doors to different carriers at CES, but the real announcement should happen around Mobile World Congress time. So either February or March. Although that’s not confirmed, it just seems more likely than the first week of January.

Earlier this week we had heard that the Galaxy S5 would be getting a 2k display, 2560×1440. Which sounds about right, but I’m not sure it’s going to be much better than a 1080p display on a screen size that large. We’ve already seen a few model numbers of what we believe is the Galaxy S5. Including the SM-6900F, SM-900S and the SM-900A. Now this is the first time we’re seeing this model number, the SM-G900A, so it could mean that all of these are for different carriers. Which is quite plausible. Although the Galaxy Note 3 model numbers are almost the same they just add an “A”, “T”, “V”, or an “S” for the US carrier models, for AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon and Sprint. So we’ll have to wait and see what happens. Hopefully we’ll know sooner rather than later.

The Galaxy S5 is going to have some big things. We’ve already seen some leaks of the hardware for the Galaxy S5, which point to no more plastic and more metal. But who knows if that’ll actually happen. How many of you are excited for a Galaxy S5 announcement in the next few weeks? Let us know in the comments below.
