HTC M8 Leaked in AnTuTu Benchmarks

The HTC M8 will also likely use an upgraded graphics processor. The AnTuTu specs list the phone as using an Adreno 330 graphics processor, an upgrade from the Adreno 320 used in the HTC One. The new graphics processor won’t have to push any more pixels, however, as the HTC M8 in the leaked specs has a 5-inch 1080p display. That’s the same resolution as the HTC One display, though it is 0.3-inches larger, making it less pixel dense.

Everything else inside the HTC M8 should sound familiar to anyone who’s looked at the HTC One. It has a same 4.0MP rear-facing camera (possibly the same UltraPixel camera as the HTC One), a 2.1MP front-facing camera, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal storage.
The phone is still months away from release, but new leaks of the HTC M8 detail the specs of what will likely be HTC’s next flagship phone.

The HTC M8 recently appeared in the AnTuTu benchmarking database, detailing the specs of what’s likely a prototype version of the new phone. The specs detail a phone that’s very similar to the current HTC One (which carried the code-name HTC M7), but with an upgraded processor. While the HTC One uses the Qualcomm Snapdragon 600, the leaked specs of the HTC M8 she the phone as using the newer Snapdragon 800.

The upgraded processor and graphics processor make the HTC M8 much faster than the HTC One. The new phone bests the current flagship device in every benchmarks AnTuTu tests. The M8 has particularly impressive results in both the 3D graphics and multitasking tests where it far exceeds the performance of the HTC One.

With other phones on the market currently using the Snapdragon 800 processor, however, there’s a chance the HTC M8 won’t seem quite as impressive when it comes to market in Spring 2014. By then some phones on the market may use the recently-announced Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor. Or, perhaps, the HTC M8 will use the new chip, and HTC is simply testing a prototype using the only processor it has available.
