Black HTC One Max Officially Unveiled

When HTC introduced the One and One mini earlier this year, it said that both devices would be offered with either a silver hue or an all-black frame. Phablet fans interested in the HTC One max haven't gotten that choice, though, as HTC has only offered the phone in silver so far. The good news is that that's changing today, as HTC has taken the wraps off of a new black version of the One max.

Announced today on HTC's official Hong Kong site, the black HTC One max looks just about as you'd expect. The phone's aluminum frame and plastic outer ring are all black, as are its bezel and fingerprint sensor, giving the giganto-phone a murdered out appearance. Specs for the black One max are the same as the silver model, meaning that it's rocking a 5.9-inch 1080p display, 1.7GHz quad-core processor, 16GB storage and Android 4.3 running beneath HTC's custom Sense user interface.

HTC has been pretty liberal with its paint brush in 2013, painting the One and One mini in several different colors, and so it's no surprise to see the One max got the same treatment. We actually got a peek at a red One max earlier this month, but so far there's been no word on an official launch of that model. As for this new black One max, HTC says that it'll be available in Hong Kong on Dec. 12 at a price of HK$6,198 ($799 USD), but the company hasn't said when or if the dark device will arrive in other territories.
